The Remote Lab Solution for Extreme Networks Training

Last year Extreme Networks and ALuP IT Services took the decision to extend their partnership. The reason for it was to set up a Remote Lab for the Extreme Networks Standard Training . After a development period of 12 month ALuP could announce our new Remote Lab Platform

The Remote Lab is now available for the following classes:

  • ECF Extreme Configuration Fundamentals  (ENA)
  • EIGP Extreme Networks Interior Gateway Protocol (ENS)
  • EMR Extreme Networks Multicast Routing (ENS)
  • ERF Extreme Networks Redundancy Fundamentals (ENS)
  • ESF Extreme Networks Security Fundamentals (ENS)
  • ENS Exams.

All classes which are relevant for the ENS Certification incl. the ENS Exams are implemented now.

The most important aspect of the ALuP Remote Lab Solution is the praxis oriented and user friendly platform. The development and design of the Remote Lab is driven from a team of trainers and consultants with many years of experience. The goal was to have a solution which is

  • Homogeneous
    The whole course has to have an integrative look and feel, so that the trainer presentation, courseware and the lab guide are consistent. 
  • Easy to use
    The attendees can navigate through the system easily. All relevant Information like the appropriate network diagram are always present for the user. 
  • Practical orienter
    The attendees get access to a real environment and we provide not only access to the switches and routers of the vendor, the student can also use additional integrated equipment like radius server, ping and trace devices etc..
  • Manageable
    The Instructor has full control over his lab with only one exception: he can not exchange hardware on his own. He can setup a new class in less then 10 min. The student can access all necessary and course relevant functions as well
  • Flexible
    In conjunction with the vendor we designed a common lab structure which contains PODs who have always 2 Extreme switches for 2 attendees. To run a class you need a minimum of 2 Pods (4 Students) and for every additional Pod you can add 2 more students into the class

 Key features of the new Platform

  • Implementation of new classes
    The implementation of new and complex courses becomes much easier. This fact allows us to provide the remote lab implementation more or less after the course development is finished.
  • Lab Access
    To access the lab we have minimized the technical requirements so that the costumer just needs an internet access, a web application like Firefox or IE and a telnet application e.g. putty.
  • Better Security
    The attendee is now  working now via SSL connection which makes the access to the lab secure.
