The Remote Lab Solution for Foundry Networks Training
Since more then 7 years ALuP IT Services is engaged in the development of remote Labs with a special focus on educational solutions. To become more cost effective, one of the largest customers of Foundry Networks decided in 2003 to review their education and training processes. ALuP IT Services was the first company who could provide a full functional remote Lab solution for the Foundry Network Standard Classes. In the last 4 years ALuP IT Services delivered all Foundry Classes on a Remote Lab basis.
The most important aspect of the ALuP Remote Lab solution is the praxis oriented and user friendly platform. The development and design of the Remote Lab is driven from a team of trainers and consultants with many years of experience. The goal was to have a solution which is:
- Homogeneous
The whole course has to have an integrative look and feel, so that the trainer presentation, courseware and the lab guide have to be consistent. - User Friendly
The attendees can navigate through the system easily. All relevant information like the appropriate network diagram is always present for the user. - Practical oriented
The attendees get access to a real environment and we provide not only access to the Switches and Routers of the Vendor, the student can also use additional integrated equipment like Radius Server, Ping and Trace devices etc.. - Manageable
The instructor has full control over his lab with only one exception: he can not exchange hardware on his own. He can setup a new class in less then 10 min. The student can access all necessary and course relevant functions as well. - Flexible
Our technically mature lab design makes it possible to group components into PODs that enable us to run Layer 2/3- as well as Layer 4/7 - classes without changing the structure of the lab. Each POD contains 5 Foundry devices which support up to 3 students. To extend the capacity of a class we only have to add one or two PODs more.
