Description
The Extreme Multicast Routing course presents the concepts and techniques used with IP multicasting in a switched Ethernet and routed IP environment. Implementation and configuration of the Internet Group Management Protocol, Protocol Independent Multicast-Sparse Mode, Protocol Independent Multicast-Dense Mode, and additional multicast related protocols are discussed. This course is based on ExtremeWare® XOS™ 11.3.
This course is designed as an instructor-led lecture with extensive laboratory exercises.
Audience
This course is designed for individuals who are responsible for the design, configuration and troubleshooting of IP Multicast networks that incorporate Extreme Networks products.
Prerequisites
A working familiarity with LAN concepts, including basic Ethernet and TCP/IP is required. Also a basic knowledge of ExtremeWare XOS configuration and troubleshooting techniques is needed. These prerequisites can be met by attending the Extreme Configuration Fundamentals (ECF-200/5) classes.
